The Amala Foundation is proud to partner once again with KID CAT (Creating Awareness Together) to host the 6th Annual One Village Walk inside San Quentin State Prison on May 1st, 2016.  The Walk will raise funds for the 4th Annual California Global Youth Peace Summit.

Each participant in the One Village Walk is invited to help raise money for the Summit. Our goal is to collectively raise $16,000 for the California Global Youth Peace Summit, which will provide full scholarships for 22 youth. Approximately 90% of the youth who participate in the Summit require scholarships to attend.

Our host, Kid CAT (Creating Awareness Together), is a group of inmates that were juveniles when they committed their crimes and are now serving life sentences. Working with youth both inside and outside the prison, their mission is to inspire humanity through education, mentorship & restorative practices.

The One Village Walk is an effort for the men to make a difference in the world while they are incarcerated. These men are walking to ensure youth affected by violence receive the support and the healing needed to follow a brighter life path and grow into compassionate men and women.

A mandatory Orientation will take place Saturday, April 30th, from 10:00am-1:00pm at Fairfax Community Church – 2398 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, Fairfax, CA 94930.

The One Village Walk will take place Sunday, May 1st, from 8am – 3pm inside San Quentin State Prison, in San Quentin, California.

Please note: prior to the day of event, unforeseen circumstances could arise that prohibit us from entering the prison.

Many of you have been generous in supporting our efforts in the past, and we appreciate you donating again to our 2016 One Village Walk.  To those who are new supporters, we are grateful that you are joining us in this great effort. We walk to give back to our communities, and in making a donation through this page, you become part of our extended family. Together, we will raise $16,000 for the California Global Youth Peace Summit.

Thank you so very much, from all of us at the Amala Foundation and KID CAT (Creating Awareness Together).
